Lino has been a part of the Jaguar team since 2014. As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) he has over 10 years of experience helping recreational athletes such as high-level attorneys, doctors, professors, and bankers get the most out of their life by staying young, pain-free, and active. Professional Experience:
Lino has been involved in sport’s performance starting the day after he graduated high school. Having grown up on a Taekwondo travel team, he was used to the culture and demands of competitive combat sports and was always curious as to why some athletes succeeded while others did not. His mother, doubtful that a career in strength and conditioning would be fruitful, set up an internship with his former high school’s football coach, starting the Monday after finishing the 12th grade. He was all in from day one and was able to continue gaining experience as he moved up through different levels of competitive sports as a coach.
As an undergraduate student at FIU, Lino was a volunteer intern with the school’s strength and conditioning program for Football, Basketball, Track & Field. He also helped start the exercise science student organization, FIU TaeKwonDo club and Brazilian Jiu jitsu club. On the side, he started taking on personal training clients at a corporate gym, as well as working with Team USA Taekwondo and Judo hopefuls.
While obtaining his master’s degree at the University of Miami, Lino was the strength and conditioning graduate assistant coach for men and women’s Olympic sports. Shortly after graduating, Lino decided to concentrate on private clients, both recreational and competitive, to remain close to his family in Miami. After working for a private personal training company for several years, he struck a partnership with Jaguar Therapeutics to become the exclusive exercise physiology and strength and conditioning provider.
In late 2018, Lino was given a scholarship to complete his PhD in exercise physiology at the University of Miami. He went from never doing any scholarly research to being published in a scientific journal within a year, at the ACSM’s 2020 conference. Long term, his goal is to continue working with private clients and become a professor of exercise physiology.
Background:
Lino was born in Caracas, Venezuela and grew up in Miami, Fl. Him, and his wife, who have known each other since second grade, are high school sweethearts, and love their dogs very much. He is a big fan of good stories and being outdoors.
